After Leela Samson, 9 Other Censor Board Parts Throw In The Towel!

Nine parts of the edit board have stopped in backing of Samson, who surrendered on Friday affirming government's obstruction

After Censor Board boss Leela Samson, eight more parts of Censor Board surrendered on Saturday (January 17) in the midst of a column over dubious film Messenger of God offering Dera Sacha Sauda boss Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh.

Ira Bhaskar, Lora Prabhu, Pankaj Sharma, Rajeev Masand, Sekharbabu Kancherla, Shaji Karun, Shubhra Gupta and TG Thyagarajan have sent a joint abdication letter to Minister of State in the Information and Broadcasting Ministry Rajyavardhan Rathore.

In their renunciation letter, the parts said they needed to venture down in light of the fact that the administration was not permitting them any self-rule.

"It is our firm position that given the unceremonious and pretentious way in which the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) is dealt with by the administration, it is difficult to perform this obligation with even a small portion of viability or self-sufficiency," they said in their acquiescence letter.

"Being on the board was a disappointing knowledge in light of obstruction," Masand was cited by a day by day.

The parts additionally charged that the service had topped off the report board with "individuals with faulty qualifications" without regarding the proposals of the board.

On Friday, Leela Samson had surrendered refering to 'impedance and pressure' after the Film Certification Appellate Tribunal (FCAT) cleared the disputable film Messenger of God (MSG).

Samson's term had lapsed last September yet it was reached out on a transitory premise at regular intervals from that point forward. "There was absolute impedance on every film, of all shapes and sizes. A considerable measure of weight was put on the film PK through different fundamentalist associations and through board parts of the board to cut scenes," said Samson.

The legislature had, in any case, invalidated her charges of obstruction and requested confirmation. "The executive discusses compulsion, we as the administration might want to see that SMS, or a letter where she or some other part has been constrained. At that point we would make fitting move," clergyman of state in the data and television service Rajyavardhan Rathore had said.
